Delhi, September 2024 – In a significant move to enhance sports infrastructure in Agartala, the Agartala Sports Department, in collaboration with Gallant Sports, has successfully developed a state-of-the-art FIH-certified hockey ground. The project, part of the Khelo India Scheme, marks a new era for hockey in the region, providing top-notch facilities for athletes to train and compete.
The journey to this transformation wasn’t easy. The project faced a major challenge early on due to an uneven ground level, with some areas being more than a foot higher than others. Gallant Sports took on this challenge, meticulously levelling the ground to meet the required standards. The uniqueness of this project lies in the fact that it is not only a standard-size hockey ground but also one that is certified by the Federation of International Hockey (FIH), ensuring it meets the highest global standards.

Work on the project began in December 2023, and the new facility is now set to provide a platform for budding athletes in the region to excel. Designed to meet the highest international standards, the hockey ground will enable local athletes to train in a professional environment, preparing them for both national and international competitions.
